The Registered Student Organization Recruitment and Fundraising Fair took place on Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Gannon Highway on LCC’s Downtown Campus.
This fair happens every semester and is open to all students, providing them more opportunities to get involved on campus. During the fair, students could meet with registered student organizations. Many clubs also sold items to help fundraise for their events.
Any currently enrolled student is welcome to join any club. Students who missed the event but are interested in getting involved can find a full list of all the registered student organization by visiting the Clubs and Organizations page on LCC’s website.
Below are photos of some of the clubs that participated in this semester’s fair.
Club Vice President Mackenzie Freeman (left), volunteer Nathaniel Duntley (middle)
and Club President Brooklyn Houser-Stanton worked the Ed-venture Club table. The club
is education-based, providing members networking opportunities and social events.
The club is currently working with Preuss Pets for a “March is Reading Month” event.
“We’re going to read to kids about animals,” Freeman said. “They’re going to do a
pet demonstration and we’re also going to do a book giveaway for them. So we’re very
excited about that.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.
Club Treasurer Brandon Powers (left), anthropology and sociology instructor Eliza
Robinson (middle) and sociology instructor Rob Roznowski (right) were tabling the
Anthropology/Sociology Club. “We really go over genocide awareness and stuff that’s
going on,” Powers said. "And when [new members] come, they will have a say in whatever
topic we’re discussing.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.

Club President Sam Schuiling (left) and Club Vice President Nathan Schweri (right) were tabling the Film Club. Club activities vary, from talking and discussing film to also shooting and editing film. The club does projects like recreating scenes from different movies. They have already done a scene from American Psycho. “We might do some from Mean Girls or Sinners. It’s just a way to promote engagement for the club,” Schuiling said. “We’re also gearing up for a short film we’re going to submit for the [Capital City] Film Festival.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.

Club President Mason Stocker was tabling the American Marketing Association table. “In the future, we plan to work with local businesses on marketing projects, host events, we’ll deal with sponsors, all sorts of stuff like that,” Stocker said. “But there’s a lot of other business elements involved, and networking.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.

Club Treasurer Elliott Moody (left) and Club Advisor Bridget Cooper (right) were tabling the Japanese Club table. This semester, the club will be doing more outings, and they have a Discord meeting once a month. “We have Japanese restaurant outings coming up in March,” Moody said. “And then in April we have a mochi making class—like a special session where everybody’s gonna make mochi—and then we also have a Wharton Center special outing to hear from the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.
Club member Evan Portillo (left) and Club member Zahra Djibrine (right) were tabling
the Political Science Student Association table. “You don’t have to be a political
science major to come,” Djibrine said. “We usually have a ‘snack and politics’ type
of thing, so there’s always food and anyone and everyone could usually come.” The
club holds discussions about current events of the week, along with pressing questions.
Portillo added, “We also do movie screenings and we do tours. Last semester, we did
a tour of the Michigan State Capitol, and we’re thinking of going to some museums
this semester, maybe a repeat of the Capitol.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.

Club member Cheyenne Bywater (left), club member Michael Blemaster (middle) and Club Vice President Bryce Dunn (right) were tabling the Art Club table. “Art club is very cool because it’s a way of interacting with not only art students on campus, but just anyone who has a general interest in art,” Dunn said. “You can meet up and you can learn from others and you can learn from people that we bring in, like guest speakers, as well as local artists.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.
From left to right, Club President Bre Fletcher, Club Secretary Zoe Ozar, club member
Sheanesu Chimbindi, club member Natalie Udemba, and Club Treasurer Kerry Fahy were
working the Cru Club table. The group has a Bible study on Monday and Tuesdays at
1 p.m., and they also have a life group on Thursdays on MSU’s campus. “We’re here
for the people. If they have questions, we give them our perspective and what we believe
is the truth on it,” Fletcher said. “We believe the Bible and we love community. Everybody
and anybody are welcomed here and we’re just kind of trying to be a beacon of light.”

Student Conduct Officer and Title IX Investigator Lisa Anzicek (left), Student Employee
Addison Green (middle), and Student Compliance Liaison Ann Marie Foley (right) were
tabling the Student Compliance table. “We’re here to bring attention to hazing and
to let students know that they have a voice if they’re in a club or athletics or anywhere
on campus for that matter,” Foley said. “Experiencing hazing, seeing hazing, that's
something that we obviously don't want here and that we are here to support them and
keep that from happening.” Photo by Nicole Wadkins.
