2025 LCC volleyball season preview

LCC’s volleyball team has faced some formidable foes during its preseason. This volleyball season has a 3-8 record so far. The three games that were won were away games at Delta Community College, Cuyahoga Community College (Ohio) and South Suburban College. So far, the team has been playing against teams from colleges across the country in order to prepare them for their conference play, which begins Tuesday Sept. 16 vs. Kalamazoo Valley. Head Coach Emily Quintero cited the defensive passes and strong hits against Parkland College at the Owens Invitational at Owens Community College as being especially memorable from the season this far.

Quintero said that LCC’s volleyball program is “high leveled and paced,” with the team winning the regional championship last year.

Most of the players this year are new to the team. Ten of the 13 players on the team are new to LCC. There are only two of those ten that have played at other colleges in the past. According to Quintero, two standout players from these games are Jasmine Reemsnyder and Haylee Schott. Another standout player on the team is Anastasia Seidelman, who is a libero (a back row defender). Seidelman is a freshman from Portland with a total of 16 attacks and two kills. Bella Strieff and Libby Baswell stand out among the front row players. Strieff is a sophomore from Laingsburg who has had a total of 68 kills and 213 total attacks, and Baswell is a freshman from Holt who has a total of 33 kills and 128 total attacks.

The LCC volleyball team faces off against Mott Community College tonight at 6:30pm in the Gannon gym.
