Lansing Community College Star Scholarship

For 2012 High School graduates from the following K-12 Public School Districts:

Bath, Dansville, DeWitt, East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Haslett, Holt/Dimondale, Lansing, Leslie, Mason, Okemos, Stockbridge, Waverly, Webberville and Williamston.

Application deadline is April 2, 2012.

Lansing Community College offers a variety of awards and scholarships every year for qualified students. Whether you are working toward an associate degree, certificate, or two-year transfer degree, LCC has a program designed for your success.

Awards and scholarships are resources that do not have to be paid back and are usually awarded for academic achievement or talent that may or may not be based on financial need. For information about additional sources of financial assistance, call (517) 483-1200 or stop by the Enrollment Services/Financial Aid Office in the Gannon Building, Room 203. Awards and Scholarships Offered

2+2+2 Engineering Program

The 2+2+2 Engineering Program is a cooperative venture between the Lansing School District, Lansing Community College, and Michigan State University.

Awards are offered to students who have been in the 2+2+2 Engineering Program since the beginning of their junior year of high school. Students must meet necessary requirements to remain eligible. 

This scholarship is for students from Lansing Eastern, Everett, and Sexton High School who are interested in pursuing an engineering degree and have demonstrated personal commitment and academic ability.

Athletic Scholarships

Athletic Scholarships are awarded through the Athletic Department. Talented athletes should contact coaches in their respective sport areas. Students must maintain certain enrollment and academic standards to remain eligible.

Foundation Scholarships

The LCC Foundation offers numerous scholarships to students who meet the criteria established by the scholarship donors.  Applicants will be considered for all Foundation scholarships especially those most aligned with their career and academic goals.  The scholarships provide varying amounts of financial support, ranging from a $500 to $3,000.

General Awards and Scholarships

LCC offers many awards and scholarships for students with special qualifications or interests in particular fields of study. These include Honors Program Awards, Occupational Program Awards, and Student Leadership Academy Service Scholarships. Board of Trustees and Women's Resource Center Awards, and Native American Tuition Waivers are also available for eligible students.

High School Diploma Completion Initiative (HSDCI)

The High School Completion Initiative is a unique opportunity for mid-Michigan students who have disconnected from their high school to jump-start their education and career preparation. The academic programs at HSDCI are designed for high school students who have disconnected from school and wish to complete their high school diploma and begin their college education and career training.

H.O.P.E. Scholarship

The H.O.P.E. Scholarship Program offers Lansing School District youth an opportunity for a college education and a brighter future. Students are initiated into the program as sixth graders. Students promise to finish high school in exchange for two years of free tuition at Lansing Community College. The students are chosen by their school based on their ability to utilize the program.

State of Michigan Scholarships

The college also administers the State of Michigan's scholarships to eligible students, such as Michigan Competitive Scholarships, Merit Award Scholarships, and more.
