Orientation Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is orientation mandatory?
A: No, orientation is not mandatory, but it is expected
that students new to college attend a session
in its entirety.
Q: Is there a fee to attend orientation?
A: No, there is no cost to attend orientation.
Q: How long is orientation?
A: Each session is four hours in length.
Q: Is orientation offered year round?
A: Orientation is offered select days during Spring registration
(November-January) and during Summer/Fall registration (April-August).
Q: What is covered at orientation?
A: At orientation students will receive a campus tour, learn tips on how to be
successful while in college, learn about options to pay for college, i.e.
financial aid, receive academic advising, learn about LCC technology, such as
Banner and Angel, and register for classes.
Q: Do I have to complete my assessment tests prior to attending
orientation?
A: It is not mandatory for students to complete assessment testing prior to
attending, but strongly recommended as students may not be able to register as a
result. Prior to taking the assessment test, please visit
assessment for questions and hours of operation.
Students who have transferred to LCC from another institution must bring an
unofficial transcript with them in order to request a waiver. Please see
