Early Learning Children's Community
LCC's On-campus Child Care and Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Children's Community (Early LCC) opened in August of 2010. The purpose of this center is twofold: to provide high quality early education and child care for the children of LCC students, staff, and the community; to provide a laboratory placement with children for students in many LCC programs.
Child Care Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers
The Community's curriculum for infants, toddlers, is based on the Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers. Our preschool program is based on the Reggio Emilio / Project Approach to early childhood education. Our programs are play-based because we believe children learn by doing. The curriculum is carefully designed by LCC's Child Development Program to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to be confident, competent learners.
