The following establishes the approved list of LCC courses under the six categories of the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). Students who have completed the MTA requirements and want to request the  "Michigan Transfer Agreement Satisfied" designation on their LCC transcript, should contact the StarZone to complete the MTA-Core Audit form.  The Registrar's Office will review and process the request.

Completion of the MTA does not necessarily mean that a student has completed the requirements for an LCC associate degree. Students must follow their curriculum guide for specific course requirements.

At least one credit-bearing course must be earned in attendance at Lansing Community College.  The credit-bearing course is not required to be from the areas represented in the MTA, but must be a college level class.

A course that is transferred to LCC from another college or university and is not equivalent to a specific LCC course may be used to satisfy MTA if it is a general education course, fits into one of the MTA areas, and meets LCC's MTA Guidelines.  To have such a course considered for MTA, a student must obtain documentation about the course from the school where it was completed, and submit the documentation to the Academic Affairs Office.

View the LCC General Education Core Area/MTA Crosswalk to see a list of LCC Core courses that meet the 2016-17 MTA category requirements.

Courses taken before Fall Semester 1993 will not automatically satisfy the MTA requirement. If you took courses during this time, the courses may satisfy MTA requirements. If you would like to request a substitution to the MTA requirements complete and submit the MTA Course Substitution Request form.

Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation requirements. See the LCC Catalog for additional details.
