Beyond the Book is a yearlong initiative focused on embracing diversity, equity and inclusion through reading. This year's books are:
- "Mind and Matter: A Life in Math and Football," by John Urschel and Louisa Thomas
- "Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teaching of Plants," by Robin Wall Kimmerer
- "Educated," by Tara Westover
- "Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents," by Isabel Wilkerson
Get your copies of the books! LCC students and employees can get free copies by visiting the Cesar Chavez Learning Center, located in the Arts & Sciences Building, room 1313. You can also find the books at local libraries and booksellers.
Keep an eye out for events and book discussions for each book throughout the year on our Beyond The Book webpage.
