LCC's On-campus Child Care and Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Children's Community (Early LCC) opened in August of 2010. The purpose of this center is twofold: to provide high quality early education and child care for the children of LCC students, staff, and the community; to provide a laboratory placement with children for students in many LCC programs.
Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers
Early LCC's curriculum for infants, toddlers, is based on the Program for Infant Toddler Caregivers. Our preschool program is based on the Reggio Emilia / Approach to early childhood education. Our programs are play-based because we believe children learn by doing. The curriculum is carefully designed by LCC's Child Development Program to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that encourage children to be confident, competent learners.
Management Agreement with Local Child Education Center
Educational Child Care Center (EC3) has been contracted to manage the Children's Community. EC3 is one of Lansing's premier child care centers, with 30 years of trusted service to the Greater Lansing community.
The Early Learning Children's Community was established to provide accessible, high quality early education and child care for the children of LCC students and to provide a laboratory placement with children for students in many LCC programs. The Early LCC will also be open to LCC staff, faculty and community members.
