WHAT MAKES YOUR COMPANY A GREAT PLACE TO WORK?

Not only is working at Home Instead an amazing opportunity to service our clients and build lasting relationships with, the culture that we build for our CAREGivers is something you will not find elsewhere. We strive for consistency and continuity for both our clients and CAREGivers and offer a flexibility in scheduling, especially for those in school. Our office staff is very supportive every step of the way and want to make sure our CAREGivers feel listened to and valued from the start. We offer ongoing paid training and continuing education that will help our team prepare for areas they want to pursue in the future or continue a long lasting relationship with our clients down the road. We make sure our CAREGivers feel prepared, comfortable and safe before entering a client's home and we initiate that first introduction with them so they don't feel alone.

DESCRIBE THE CULTURE OF YOUR COMPANY.

We pride ourselves in being supportive every step of the way, very responsive and building a growing foundation for our CAREGivers to thrive in and develop their skills and experience. We want our CAREGivers to know that we listen to them, make them feel valued, and take their opinions and feedback with us to help our company to grow. We provide support in all areas including grief and support groups or just an ear to listen to them here at the office. We take what they tell us with a heavy heart and make sure they know we are here for them as much as they are here for our clients. We provide a safe environment for our CAREGivers to work in and make sure they are prepared for what the needs of our clients might be before going into their home.

WHAT SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCES DO YOU LOOK FOR IN CANDIDATES?
  • Past caregiving experiences - preferred but not required - we train!!
  • driver's license / car insurance / reliable transportation- preferred but not required
  • willing to learn
  • compassionate, empathetic
  • Alzheimer's/ dementia care - preferred but not required
  • able to problem solve
  • reliability / consistency
  • CNA certified - not required

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF CAREER ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE LCC STUDENTS?

Take everything day by day. Some things are not going to come easy, but you have to take it with a grain of salt and learn each day with the new experiences you will encounter. It's best to take a step back, take a deep breath and tell yourself that you can accomplish anything. It might take time, but if you are determined, anything is possible.
