Institutional Scholarships

  • May be used for a maximum of five semesters over a period of two consecutive years
  • Provides up to $1,363 in LCC tuition and fees each fall and spring semester
  • Provides up to $427 in LCC tuition and fees for an optional summer semester (enrollment of at least three approved credits is required)
  • Is renewable each semester of the award period contingent upon the recipient meeting all award renewal requirements listed below

An Award Recipient Must

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Be considered an 'in-district' resident  For more information regarding residency requirements visit www.lcc.edu/schedule/residency
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Demonstrate leadership potential at school or in the community
  • Submit SAT/ACT scores or have taken reading, writing and math assessment tests in the LCC Testing Center

Award Renewal Requirements

  • Follow an approved LCC curriculum (transfer program or associate degree)

  • Maintain a semester and cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher

  • Successfully complete at least twelve approved credits fall and spring semesters

Additional Application Requirements

  • SAT/ACT scores uploaded to the General Scholarship Application or college-level reading, writing, and math skills as determined by LCC Testing Center

  • Wish to gain additional leadership and community service experiences while following a primary college program of study

Lansing Community College offers Divisional Program Awards to new, currently enrolled, or returning students who:

  • Have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
  • Plan to complete a one-year certificate of completion or a two-year occupational degree at LCC (Curriculum in applied arts, applied science, and business, may be found at Applied Degrees and Certificates.)
  • Whose primary objective in attending LCC is to seek education and the acquisition of skills needed to enter the work force or to advance in their current careers

The Divisional Program Award:

  • Covers a maximum of three semesters during a single academic year.
  • Up to $1,363 in LCC tuition and fees each fall and spring semester and an optional award of up to $427 for one summer semester (enrollment of least three approved credits is required)
  • Renewal each semester is contingent upon the recipient meeting all award renewal requirements listed below

An award recipient must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

  • Pursue an approved approved LCC curriculum

Selection is based on:

  • grade point average
  • ability in the selected area of study
  • letters of reference, and a written personal statement

Award Renewal Requirements

  • Follow an approved LCC occupational curriculum.

  • Maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher

  • Successfully complete at least six approved credits fall and spring semesters

Lansing Community College offers Honors Program Awards to new and continuing students who:

  • Have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement
  • Plan to complete a two-year associate degree seeking program (Associate in Arts, Associate in Business, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Arts or Associate in Applied Science.
  • Want to be an active participant in the LCC Honors Program

The Honors Program Award

  • Covers a maximum of five semesters over a period of two consecutive years
  • Provides up to $1,685 towards LCC tuition and fees each fall and spring semester and an optional award of up to $471 towards LCC tuition and fees for one summer semester (enrollment of at least 3 credits is required)
  • Renewal each semester is contingent upon the recipient meeting all Honors Program requirements listed below.

An award recipient must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

  • Be a high school graduate
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.5
  • Have a composite SAT score of at least a 1110 or a composite ACT score of at least 22

  • Letters of reference and a written personal statement

Lansing Community College Honors Program

Honors Program Award recipients automatically become members of the LCC Honors Program and must participate as a condition of the award.

The Honors Program provides:

  • Enriched courses
  • Special advising services
  • Community service options
  • Enhanced learning opportunities for students capable of a special challenge in higher education.

Honors Program Requirements

In order to maintain their membership in the Honors Program and retain their Honors Program Award, students must:

  • Follow an associate degree seeking program curriculum.

  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher.

  • Successfully complete at least twelve approved credits fall and spring semesters.

  • Successfully complete Honors courses each academic year as required.

  • May be used for a maximum of five semesters over two consecutive years.
  • Provides up to $1,363 in LCC tuition and fees each fall and spring semester and an optional award of up to $427 for LCC tuition and fees for one summer semester (enrollment of at least three approved credits is required)
  • Advancement of each semester award is contingent upon the successful completion of twelve credits the previous semester, and a semester and cumulative 3.0 gpa.

An Award Recipient Must

  • Be a 2017 high school graduate from one of the eligible school districts
  • Must be a resident of the state of Michigan.  For more information regarding residency requirements visit www.lcc.edu/schedule/residency
  • Have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Be college ready in reading, writing and math through SAT/ACT scores or the LCC Testing Center. 
    • Reading:  Level 5 on LCC Placement, 24 or higher on SAT Reading or 20 or higher on ACT Reading
    • Writing:  Level 6 on LCC Placement, 24 or higher on SAT Writing & Language or 20 or higher on ACT English
    • Math:  Level 6 on LCC Placement, 550 on SAT Math or 22 or higher on ACT Math

Additional Application Requirements

  • SAT or ACT Test Scores uploaded to the General Scholarship Application and/or complete LCC Placement testing.

Lansing Community College offers Student Leadership Academy Awards to new or returning students who:

An Award Recipient Must

  • Attend a mandatory Scholarship Program Orientation (Fall).
  • Enroll for a two credit leadership development (LEAD) course each Fall and Spring Semester.
  • Maintain at least a 2.5 grade in LEAD courses and a 2.5 overall grade point average.
  • Serve as a student representative on an assigned college wide committee.
  • Participate in planned community service projects including on-campus engagement activities and events. 
  • Complete an approved individual service project.

Award Selection Criteria

  • Grade point average
  • Written personal statements, letters of reference, and service history

Child Care Grants

Awards help defray child care costs while eligible parents attend LCC. May be used for child care with any licensed child care provider. Income guidelines and other eligibility criteria apply.

Women's Resource Center Foundation Grants

These awards are for people whose education has been interrupted for at least six years or who have been out of the job/education market for six years or more due to other responsibilities. Income guidelines and other eligibility criteria apply.
