Spring 2021 Athletic Accomplishments/Recognitions
Amid the pandemic, the spring athletes at LCC persevered. Collectively teams performed well and many received individual honors in recognition of their efforts. Following are the highlights:
Track & Field
- Sophia Spalding and Angela Jaycox qualified for Nationals. Sophia placed 8th in the 10,000 meter run (25 laps around the track) overall. Sophia has signed with the University of West Florida to continue her sport and finish her degree. Angela finished 13th in the Steeplechase event.
- Austin Savage finished at LCC with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He is transferring to Ferris State University where he will continue his academic and athletic career.
- 4 track athletes finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA.
- The track team had a total of NJCAA Coaches Association awarded 6 Academic All-Americans:

Softball
- Softball finished their season with a 32-11 record.
- The National Federation of College Coaches Association recognized Megan Mann as 1st Team All American player. Jaden Diebel was 2nd Team All American from this same organization.
- The NJCAA named Megan Mann as a 2nd Team All American.
- Receiving NJCAA Region 12 All-Region Team honors are:

- The MCCAA recognized Jada Walton as MCCAA Western Conference Honorable Mention.

- Baseball finished their season with a 47-3 record.
