LCC Hosts High Tech Conference and Auto Show for Industry Professionals

LANSING, Mich. -  Automotive professionals, instructors and the auto-inclined can receive practical, up-to-date training and know-how on the latest technology driving the industry through a combined automotive conference and car show coordinated through the Lansing Community College Automotive Program.

Attendees at the 2013 Annual LCC Automotive Conference and Auto Car Show from August 23-24 can benefit from a variety of workshops, speakers and special presentations that can dual as earned hours toward state- and industry-specific certifications. Attending teachers and instructors may also fulfill technical updates required for state approved teaching programs. Classes available through the two-day conference include engine diagnostics, transmission diagnostics, first-responder training for electric and hybrid vehicles, auto body welding, respirator fit and use, and more.

"Anyone coming to the conference and auto show will have the chance to network with industry professionals to discuss cutting edge technology," says George Pena, LCC program director in Transportation Maintenance Technologies. "It's a great opportunity to share best practices and learn about the latest techniques with other professionals in the automotive field."

Participants can register up to and on the day of the conference. The first 60 people to register will receive a free OTC 3108 pocket scanner. Conference attendees can also enter a raffle for a tool set courtesy of the conference sponsors. Sponsors include CARQUEST Auto Parts, Electude and Michigan Propane Gas Association.

The conference runs both Friday and Saturday and the auto show on Saturday only. All events take place on the LCC West Campus, 5708 Cornerstone Drive in Lansing Charter Township.

The LCC Automotive Program is NATEF, Snap-on and nc3 certified and provides students with maximum hands-on learning experiences, skills and competencies for work in the automotive technology field.
