Lady Stars edged by Mott CC
The LCC women's basketball team lost 64-60 against Mott Community College at home on Saturday, Dec. 11.
"(The) game against Mott Community College was a little rough," LCC's Jasmine Goins said. "It was a game we should've won, but did not push through."
This loss put the Stars' record at 1-8 overall
"We didn't play as a team," LCC's Skyy Lockhart said. "I had a bad game personally and there are some things we need to fix and work at."
Freshman Elysia Causley scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Stars. Sophomore Riley Merryfield led LCC with four assists.
"We ended up losing for a number of reasons, including poor defense – which got Mott to the foul line a lot – turnovers and not finishing around the basket," Emily Sinclair said.
"I feel OK about my performance," Sinclair added. "I had a few good moves on offense, but I did make some mistakes I wish I could get back. It just makes me more motivated to keep getting better for our next game."
The Stars are scheduled to play at St. Clair County Community College on Saturday, Dec. 18.
