The LCC men's basketball team lost 80-72 against high-powered Mott Community College at LCC on Saturday, Dec. 11.

"Great game, we played hard and competed and had a chance to win this game," LCC Head Coach Mike Ingram said.

Mott is currently ranked number one in the NJCAA Division 2 rankings with a record of 9-0. LCC is 15th in the country with a record of 8-2. Both of the Stars' losses have been against Mott.

"We still have a lot of room to grow and were still getting better," Ingram said.

LCC freshman Sean Cobb commented on the contest.

"We played pretty well throughout the game," Cobb said. There were a couple moments where we had good momentum and (were) cutting the lead down."

Sophomore Drew Lowder led the Stars with 27 points and six assists. Cobb grabbed nine rebounds for LCC.

"We played pretty solid defense and good offense," Cobb said. "I feel like I did not play my greatest game, but I feel like it was solid. Overall, could have done better."

Ingram spoke about what is next for the Stars.

"We finish out the (2021) year next Saturday (Dec. 18) at St. Clair at 3 p.m.," Ingram said. "We will be looking to bounce back from this loss, and (then) take some time off to spend with family over the holidays."
