Lansing Community College Library

The Library has a variety of spaces and rooms. Some of these rooms can be reserved by students, faculty, and staff following Room Use & Reservation Guidelines.

Some of the library spaces will be changing due to the library renovation. The Meditation Room in the Library will be temporarily available in Room 232 in November and December. A permanent Meditation Room will reopen in the Gannon Building at a future date.

Individual Study Rooms

Reserve an Individual Study Room
  • Lending Period: 2 hours
  • 1-2 students
  • Perfect for quiet study
  • Some rooms include a scanner or a window
  • All rooms include a computer. Most have PCs. Room 222 has a Mac computer.
  • Software in Study Rooms

Group Study Rooms

Reserve A Group Study Room

  • Lending Period: 2 hours
  • 2-6 students
  • Collaborative work
  • Computer access varies depending on the room. Rooms range from 0-2 computers.
  • TLC 224 can accommodate up to 20 people.

Accessibility Room

Reserve the Accessibility Room
  • Lending Period: 2 hours
  • 1-2 students
  • Room includes accessibility software and hardware including Jaws Screen Reader, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Natural Reader, Duxbury Braille Translator, and the Romeo Pro 50 Braille Embosser
  • Students must be registered with the Center for Student Access to use the equipment in the room
  • The Jaws and Dragon Naturally Speaking software can also be found in the TLC and West Campus Computer Labs

Gaming Space

  • A Wii U and Playstation 4 are located in the Atrium area on the second floor. A selection of games available at the Checkout Desk are listed below.

Virtual Reality Space

  • An Oculus Rift virtual reality system is located at the Multimedia Desk and available for free play. A selection of games and experiences available on the system are listed below.

3D Printing

Reserve a 3D Printing Room

  •  Lending period: 2 hours
  • 1-2 students
  • The printing room includes the 3D Print Studio program.
  • Go to the Multimedia Desk to get a USB drive to save your file on. When you are done, return the USB drive and choose your filament color. You'll be contacted when your job is done and need to pick it up within one week.
  • 3D Printing is free.

Room Use Guidelines

  • All patrons must have a valid photo ID to check out a room.
  • Please leave the room as you found it.
  • You may be asked to vacate the room if you reservation time has expired or if you are using the room inappropriately.
  • You will receive one warning to quiet down and then you will be asked to leave.
  • Please do not leave personal belongings unattended. You are responsible for your personal belongings.
  • All computer and gaming use must comply with LCC’s  PDF File Acceptable Use Policy.
  • All files on saved on computers are removed when you log off.

Room Reservations

  • You must have a photo ID to make reservations.
  • Room reservations must be made at least one day in advance and up to one month in advance by telephone, in person, and online.
  • Rooms may be reserved in two hour increments.
  • You may reserve one room per day.
  • Reservations are posted daily outside each room.
  • Please arrive within 15 minutes of your reservation or it may be cancelled.
