Lottery Process

There are 90 seats available for each new entering class. A number of seats have been determined for sending districts based on their total pupil enrollment. All eligible students will be entered into a lottery, should the number of eligible applicants exceed the number of sending district seats.

Lottery 1

One of the salient outcomes of The Early College at LCC is to increase the number of students attending college who would be first generation college students or have received free and reduced lunch. The sending schools will allocate one third (1/3) of their seats for these identified students.

Lottery 2

If there are more students (free reduced lunch and/or first generation college students) meeting the requirements than seats available in Lottery 1 those students will be placed in Lottery 2 for the remaining (2/3) seats available for the sending district. The remaining 2/3 district seats are available to any interested/eligible student.

Note: If there are more students than seats allocated to a district, students will be placed on a waiting list. Therefore all students on a waiting list must attend all mandatory meetings/testing and turn in all paperwork timely to maintain eligibility for the program.
