  • Currently licensed as an MFR, EMT-B, EMT-S, or EMT-P with the state of Michigan

Note: Three years of EMS experience with a life support agency are required in order to apply for Michigan I/C licensure.

Steps to Apply & Register for the Instructor/Coordinator Courses

    Apply to LCC

    Complete the admissions application to become an official LCC student. Once you click "apply now", you will be asked to create an admissions login and to select an admission type. If your first time coming to LCC is for the I/C program, choose guest or transfer student on your LCC application. To complete the application, you will need to know you SSN, email address and address of residence.

    Activate Account

    Now that you're in, activate your LCC account to get access to your email and important information from the College.

    To activate your account, you will need the LCC Student ID number you received after you applied.

    Assessment

    Placement levels are required in order to register for classes. The I/C Course requires a Reading Level of 5 and a Writing Level of 6 on the student's account prior to department approval. You can check if you currently have levels in reading, writing, and math in the profile tab of your myLCC account. If you do not currently have any levels there are a few ways you can establish levels:

    Use the form below to submit these documents, all documentation must include your full name and test date.Process time is one to three business days. Notification of the completion of your request will be sent to your LCC email.

    • College transcript (unofficial is acceptable) or proof of degree
    • High school transcript (within 10 years from graduation)
    • SAT, PSAT (if you have not yet taken the SAT), ACT, ASVAB, AP, or CLEP test scores
    • GED test scores (within the last 3 years)

    If you are not able to access any of the above documents, you can take our placement tests.

    Request Department Approval

    After completing steps 1-3 please email LCC's EMS Office for Department Approval. Please be sure to provide your name and student email address.

    Register for Classes

    After completing the steps above, you are ready to register for classes! Once department approval has been placed on your student account the EMS Office will provide you with the CRNs needed for registration.
