Lansing Community College

Presidential Search Update

Dear LCC students, employees and community members:

On behalf of the entire Board of Trustees, I would like to provide the first of many communications about the search for LCC’s seventh president. As you likely know, President Brent Knight recently announced 2019-2020 will be his final academic year at LCC. We look forward to celebrating Dr. Knight’s myriad successes during his more than a decade at the college, we have begun the process of finding the next president of Lansing Community College, with the goal of selecting someone by July 1, 2020.

On July 15, 2019 the Board passed a resolution to engage an executive search firm to assist the Board with nationally recruiting candidates for the presidency. A Request for Proposal has been posted for an Executive Search Consultant. More information can be found online at All responses must be received by 8/19/2019 prior to 5:00 P.M. E.D.T.

We are grateful to Dr. Knight for his years of dedication to building both student success and a beautiful campus of which we can be proud. We are truly appreciative of Dr. Knight helping us to make LCC “a college like no other”. We are also grateful for your involvement in helping us select his successor. All the Trustees are deeply committed to a transparent, participatory process, and we welcome your comments and questions at
