Proposal to Participate in
The Capital City Writing Institute

The deadline for applying to the Capital City Writing Institute was originally set at March 18 in order to give participants enough time to receive notification of acceptance and obtain funding before the early registration deadline of May 1. Those who have met this application deadline will be notified of their acceptance by April 1.
For those who have not yet applied to participate, we still encourage you to do so! We will continue to accept applications until May 1 or until we have run out of spaces in the schedule to accommodate participants. However, please note that the early registration deadline will remain May 1. Registration received on or before this date will be $200. Registration received after May 1 will be $250.
If you happen to apply and send us your early registration check of $200 after all spaces have been filled, we will be happy to return your check to you. Please continue to check this website for further updates.
Please send an email message to Cheryl McCormick at mccormc@lcc.edu in which you provide the following information:
- Personal information: name and title; name of Institution; phone; e-mail; courses you have taught and a brief description of the developmental level of your students.
- Session proposal: The majority of the Institute will be spent engaging one another-as if we were one another's students-in our own best practices for providing developmental writing instruction. Please thoroughly describe in approximately 200-250 words a teaching practice you have developed and would like to demonstrate in fifty minutes.
