Great news for WLNZ listeners,
the FCC has granted Lansing Public Radio a power increase. This increase
will nearly triple our current power – which means better reception in
Lansing and the surrounding towns and suburbs of Lansing. The
equipment and installation needed for the power increase has been estimated
at around $20,000 – and because of your generous donations we were able to reach our goal during the on air WLNZ Power Drive
held February 6th through 10th. Thank you to all who called and made their
pledge of support during that time. Personally we were humbled by the
kindness and consideration expressed by those who made donations to assist
with the power increase. Our listeners came together like never before and
we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In the coming months we will
include information about the extended signal coverage as we proceed through
the process of raising power.

What is HD Radio?
WE’VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT WLNZ BROADCASTING IN DIGITAL, OR, WHAT’S
CALLED “H-D Radio”. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN’T HEARD OF H-D RADIO
YET… HERE’S SOME BACKGROUND…
You're
probably asking yourself, What's the advantage of HD Radio?
FM broadcasts will have CD-quality sound. Broadcasts are static-free
featuring full frequency response and crystal clear reception.
Signal fades, static, hiss, and pops will be things of the past.
Among the HD
Radio features WLNZ is offering - a second channel that offers music
and information programming on a FULL TIME BASIS. WE CALL THIS NEW
CHANNEL WLNZ H-D 2. AND IT’S ON THE RADIO, BUT YOU NEED AN H-D RADIO
RECEIVER TO LISTEN… OR YOU CAN LISTEN TO IT ON THE INTERNET. JUST
LOOK FOR THE WLNZ H-D 2 LINK AT WLNZ-dot-ORG.
THERE ARE No
subscription fees. It's FREE for consumers, just like today's analog
AM and FM radio. Unlike satellite radio services, HD Radio does not
require a subscription.
