  Tutoring Options

Tutoring Services offers many options for tutoring: Scheduled appointments, walk-in tutoring, study groups and workshops. Most tutoring takes place face-to-face on campus. There is a very limited number of online appointments available.

To determine which option is the best for you, here are a few questions to ask yourself.

  • Do you prefer to study alone or with someone you know fairly well?

  • Do you anticipate wanting to meet with a tutor every week at the same time?

If so, you may want to consider applying for Individual or Small Group tutoring.

Individual or Small Group Tutoring

Individual and small group tutoring appointments are on-going throughout the semester.  You meet with the tutor individually, or with one or two students from your class at a set time and location. Appointments are made using an application to see if there is a match with a tutor.

A Tutoring Request Form form can be found by clicking here   PDF file

Supplemental Instruction or Study Groups

Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Study Groups are group tutoring sessions that are scheduled to support student enrolled in historically difficult classes.  Students can walk-in for assistance during any or all of these sessions.  No application is necessary.  The schedule changes each semester depending on the class schedule. The schedule for the current semester can be found by clicking here  SI Schedule

Walk in Tutoring

Please feel free to stop in during our regular office hours to see if a tutor is available.  If regularly scheduled students cancel their appointments then tutors may be available to assist others. These times are not as predictable as regular appointments, but they might work well if you don't have or need a regular appointment.

Please note that even if you have a regularly scheduled appointment, you can use walk in tutoring.
