NOTES:
1. Admission requirements to podiatric medicine
a. To enter a college of podiatric medicine, one must first complete at
least three years or 90 semester hours of college credit at an
accredited institution. Over 95 of the students who enter have a
bachelor's degree. Many have also completed some graduate study.
b. AACPMAS begins processing admission applications September 1st each
year, for fall admission the following year. Deadline dates are:
Priority consideration, April 1 of each year for the upcoming FALL
admission; FINAL application deadline date is July 31st for FALL
admissions of the same year.
c. Other admission requirements include letters of recommendation,
transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions
attended/attending, as well as personal interviews.
d. All applicants are required to complete the Medical College
Admissions Test (MCAT), administered in Spring and Fall. The test
should be taken in the calendar year prior to the year in which the
student wishes to enter a college of podiatric medicine. Students may
register online at http://www.aamc.org/mcat. Some colleges will
accept the GRE or DAT in lieu of the MCAT.
d. Courses on this curricular guide represent minimum prerequisite
course work. Contact the podiatric medical college for additional
information.
e. Individuals may apply to any or all of the colleges through the
American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine Application
Service (AACPMAS), on line at http://www.e-aacpmas.org.

4. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading,
and writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should
take the Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center
