1. Admission requirements vary. However, all require that the applicant
complete a minimum of three years (90 semester hours) of college or
university education or have earned a baccalaureate degree prior to
admission. Students should inquire about the specific pre-optometric
requirements of the individual optometric colleges. The above courses
represent a minimal list of requirements. Professional optometry
education requires a minimum of four years at an optometric college or
university.
2. Colleges of Optometry require the Optometry Admissions Test (OAT).
