transcripts are endorsed as "MACRAO Satisfied" will only be required to
fulfill the following three general education requirements at OU:
a. writing intensive course in the major;
b. capstone course;
c. knowledge application course.
2. Students not completing the MACRAO will be required to meet the Oakland
University General Education Requirements. U.S. Diversity courses (excluding
SPCH 280) may be double-counted in a Knowledge Explorations area. ANTH 270
may be used to satisfy Global perspective OR Social Science, not both.
3. The College of Arts & Sciences requires 12 additional credits selected from
3 of the 6 distribution fields listed below. Courses taken for General
Education may not be applied to the distribution requirements, except for
second semester foreign language.
Foreign Language (second semester course or higher); Arts & Literature (one
additional course); Civilization (one additional course from Western
Civilization); Social Sciences (one additional course); Mathematics
(satisfied by major); and Science (additional 4 credits in BIOL, CHEM or
PHYS).
4. Students may transfer one-half (62) of the credits required for the
baccalaureate degree. Consult with an OU College of Arts & Sciences adviser
to confirm transferability of electives you select to bring your transfer
credit total to 62 credit hours.
5. A minimum of 32 credits must be taken at Oakland University.
6. OU requires a minimum cumulative transfer GPA of 2.5. Since some programs
require a higher GPA the student is encouraged to consult with an OU
advisor as early as possible.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
