NOTES:
1.  This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement 
    that facilitates the transfer of Lansing Community College (LCC) students to 
    Ferris State University's (Ferris) Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary 
    Education. This program remains in effect through August 14, 2014 and is 
    designed to be completed at the LCC University Center. This guide is not 
    intended to be a contract with Ferris. The information is subject to change.
    Final responsibility for verifying all transfer information lies with the 
    student.  
2.  Admissions Requirements to Ferris:  Students applying to the program must 
    meet these requirements prior to admission:
    a. Have completed a minimum of 48 transferable credits or have completed an
       associate degree.  
    b. Have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA in their prior coursework.  Official 
       transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
    c. Completion of the following courses with a 2.0 of better:  MATH 112; 
       WRIT/ENGL 122/132; EDUC 204; PSYC 205.  Students in Early Childhood may
       substitute CHDV 101 and 222 for PSYC 205. 
    d. Successful completion of all three subsections of the Michigan Test of
       Teacher Certification (MTTC) - Basic Skills Test.  Information can be 
       found at www.mttc.nesic.com. 
    e. Identified two minors in addition to the Elementary Education major. 
       Optional Early Childhood minor should be identified as soon as possible.
3.  Additional Admissions Requirements to Level II Teacher Education Coursework:
    Prior to taking any Ferris courses in the Professional Sequence, students 
    must also complete a level II application, which includes items such as DHS
    clearance form and felony conviction form, a professional disposition state-
    ment, and an agreement to become certified in First Aid and CPR.
4.  Some courses listed in the REQUIREMENTS section above are also listed within
    CHOICE 5 Minor Options and will count toward both requirements concurrently. 
5.  Students may select two of the available three teaching minors listed under 
    Choice 5 of this transfer guide.  Ferris requires the following GPA for each
    minor: Language Arts - 3.0; Mathematics - 2.75; Social Studies - 2.75. Early 
    Childhood is an optional third minor.  
6.  If the student pursues a ZA endorsement (see transfer guide 1460), they must 
    complete the Early Childhood Minor in addition to the other two teaching 
    minors  A 2.50 GPA is required, no grade lower than a 2.0. Requirements ART
    240 and MUSC 200 should not be taken if the Early Childhood minor is chosen.    
7.  To fulfill the Ferris Social Awareness requirement, students must select
    three courses from at least two different subject areas, with one course
    equivalent to a Ferris 200 level or higher course (underlined), from the 
    following options: ANTH 270; ECON 201,202; GEOG 200,202; POLS 120,240. 
8.  Students may substitute with WRIT 131 and 132.
9.  Must earn a 3.0 or better in BIOL 145 or 229 to meet this requirement.
10. Students earning the ZA endorsement are not required to take PSYC 205, but 
    must take CDHV 101 and 222.  
11. The Mathematics minor is currently under review with the Michigan Department
    of Education.  Students are strongly encouraged to speak with their advisor 
    concerning this minor. 
12. This minor is being eliminated.  See an advisor for details. 
13. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
    requirements including the LCC general education core requirements.  See the

14. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and 
    writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
    Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
