NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Morgan State University (MSU)
in support of the National Articulation and Transfer Network program. This
agreement facilitates the transfer of eligible LCC credits into an MSU
baccalaureate degree program for qualified LCC students.
2. See the MSU General Education guide for appropriate LCC courses. LCC
courses other than those appearing on this guide should be checked for
transferability to the four-year institution.
3. Morgan State University admissions process:
a. The student must request entry into Morgan State University's Student
Transfer Admissions Program (STAP) no later than the first semester of
course work at LCC and provide a signed letter of transfer intent. This
form is available in the Morgan State University articulation agreement.
b. Students must maintain a minimum of a 2.50 grade point average.
c. Students will submit a high school and an LCC transcript along with SAT or
ACT scores to MSU. An SAT score of 900 or higher, or an ACT score of 19
or higher is required for admission to MSU. Students who have been out of
school for three consecutive years or more will be exempt from providing
SAT/ACT scores to MSU.
d. Students will complete an AA or AS degree at LCC or complete the courses
included on this transfer guide prior to transfer to MSU.
e. Students will apply for transfer acceptance utilizing the regular MSU
process within the established deadline dates. The MSU application and
admission fee is waived for STAP students.
f. Upon acceptance, the STAP student will be invited to pre-register for
MSU classes ahead of traditional transfer students.
4. Students must transfer to MSU within three years of joining the Transfer
Admissions Program. This will enable students to follow the degree require-
ments at Morgan State University upon entrance to Lansing Community College.
If an extended period is anticipated, the student should contact an MSU
transfer counselor.
5. MSU will transfer up to a maximum of 70 LCC credits. Because this transfer
guide includes more than the maximum number of transferable credits, students
should work closely with MSU to determine appropriate courses selection.
6. Select 4 credits from FREN/GRMN/JAPN/SPAN 115,116,121, or 122.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
For further information and advising, contact Marian Patterson at MSU (443)
885-3350; or contact Addie Morrow at LCC (517) 483-1165. Morgan State University
is located at 1700 E. Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore MD 21251.
