NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
that facilitates the transfer of Lansing Community College (LCC) students to
Ferris State University's (FSU) elementary education bachelor degree program.
2. Admissions Requirements to Ferris:
a. Admission to the degree program requires an associate degree or a minimum
of at least 48 transferable credits from LCC. In addition, students may
be enrolled concurrently at FSU and LCC.
b. To be considered for financial aid from Ferris, students must take at
least six credit hours each semester.
c. A 2.5 overall GPA is required for admission. Official college transcripts
must be submitted at time of application for admissions.
d. Completion of MATH 112 and WRIT/ENGL 122/132 with a 2.0 or better is
required.
3. Additional Admissions Requirements to Level II Teacher Education Coursework:
a. Successful completion of all three subsections of the Michigan Test for
Teacher Certification (MTTC) - Basic Skills Test is required. Information
can be found online at http://www.mttc.nesinc.com.
b. Submission of an FIA (Family Independence Agency) report.
c. Submission of a "Professional Dispositions Policy" form.
4. Students may select two of the available three minors listed in Choice 1 of
this transfer guide. Ferris requires the following GPA for each minor:
Language Arts - 3.0; Mathematics - 2.75; Social Studies - 2.75.
5. Some courses listed in the minor options are also listed in the Required
Courses section of this guide, and will count toward both requirements con-
currently.
6. If the student pursue a ZA endorsement, they must complete the Early Child-
hood Minor in addition to the other two teaching minors A 2.50 GPA is
required for this optional third minor. Students should select either CHDV
100 or 197.
7. To fulfill the Ferris Social Awareness requirement, students must choose
three courses (or nine credits) from at least two different subject areas
from the following courses, with one course equivalent to a Ferris 200 level
(underlined) or higher course: ANTH 270; ECON 201,202; GEOG 200,202; POLS
120,130.
8. Students may substitute with WRIT 131 and 132.
9. Students may substitute MATH 161 and 162 for MATH 151 and 152.
10. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the

11. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
