NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Capella University which allows
for the transfer of an associate degree plus additional credits (up to 90)
of LCC coursework to Capella University's online programs. Students will
receive a 10% Capella University tuition discount, smooth credit transfer,
streamlined application process, no application fee, and can petition for
degree credit.
2. Capella's Bachelor of Science in Information Technology has the following
specialty areas of study: Information Technology General, Graphics and
Multimedia, Network Technology, Project Management, and Web Application
Development.
3. Capella University Admissions Requirements:
a. 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher
b. All general education courses of a 2.0 or higher are accepted
c. LCC courses may apply toward upper division credit at Capella
d. Students may transfer up to 90 semester (135 quarter) credits from LCC
4. Capella University provides the following list of categories and courses that
may be used as substitutions for the Required Courses listed on this guide.
Students are advised to select courses that will concurrently meet LCC's Core
Requirements to assist with the completion of the associate degree at LCC.
a. As substitution to taking WRIT 121, 122, and SPCH 280, students may
choose three courses from JRNL 151,251,254; SPCH 110,120,130,140,260,270;

b. As substitution to taking HIST 211 and 212, students may choose two

e. Students may choose three of the following courses to meet the Fine Arts

5. Elective credits should be selected with the assistance of a Capella Univer-
sity advisor (contact information listed at the end of this transfer guide).
Credits should include coursework that will apply to LCC's Core Requirements
to allow students to complete an associate degree prior to transfer to
Capella University's online program.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
