LANSING COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRANSFER GUIDE Title: General Education Requirements, Spring Arbor University/Main Campus Code: 1195 Spring Arbor University is a signatory member of the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) Transfer Agreement. Students who fulfilled the MACRAO Transfer Agreement at Lansing Community College (must be completed before starting at SAU) will be accepted as having fulfilled the general education freshman and sophomore year requirements unless otherwise specified by a particular grogram (e.g. Teacher Education). For any course to transfer, it must be numbered 100-299 and the grade earned must be "C" (2.0) or higher. If a student does not fulfill MACRAO the following LCC courses are suggested: 1. English - 6 semester hours WRIT 121 and ENGL/WRIT 122 or 132 (122/132 must have a 2.5 or better for teacher education) 2. Oral Communication - 3 semester hours SPCH 110/120/130 3. Physical Education - 2 semester hours PFFT 100/101/102/103; PFHW 163 4. Fine Arts HUMS 120 OR ARTS 102 OR HUMS 211/212 and MUSC 199 (2 semester of Musical Performance Group may substitute for MUSC 199) 5. Humanities - 1 course from: ENGL 211/212: HUMS 160; FREN/GRMN/SPAN 122 6. Natural Science - 1 laboratory science from: BIOL 120/127/128/145/201/203&204/210/260/265; CHEM 135/151&161/152&162; GEOL 221/222/230; ISCI 121/131; PHYS 120/221/251 AND 1 course from: CITF 120; CPSC 120/230; MATH 112/117/119/121 or higher; STAT 170/215 7. Philosophy/Religion: PHIL 211/212 AND RELG 241/242 8. Social Science - 1 course from: HIST 150/211/212; HUMS 213/214 AND 1 course from: ECON 120/201/202; PSYC 200 (required for teacher education); SOCL 120/254/255 All transfer students must complete a writing skills proficiency examination. Students who do not demonstrate satisfactory skills will be required to complete English 304 at Spring Arbor University.
