All community college graduates accepted for admission to Lake Superior State
University who have earned the MACRAO approved stamp on their transcript, will
be recognized as having completed the general education requirements at LSSU.
The outcomes of general education in which LSSU students are required to acquire
proficiency are communication skills, mathematics, humanities, natural science,
social science and cultural diversity.

course work which must include a
minimum of one course in a physical
science and one course in a
biological science.
Social Sciences - 6-8 semester hours Any 8 semester hours of social
science course work from the
following areas: anthropology,
sociology, psychology, history,
political science, economics,
geography or social science. Courses
HUMS 213, 214 and 215 also count as
social science credit.
Humanities - 8 semester hours 8 semester hours, in any combination
selected from two or more of the
areas listed below with a maximum of
four semester hours in any one area:
