NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation agreement between Lansing
Community College (LCC) and Spring Arbor University (SAU) that facilitates
the transfer of LCC students to the SAU Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary
Education. A maximum of 68 community college credits will be accepted at SAU.
Completion of one major or two minors is required for the Elementary Teacher
Certification. All course work in the major or minors must be a 2.0 or above
GPA (see Note 5).
2. To fulfill SAU's general education requirements students may complete either
the MACRAO Transfer Agreement or the SAU General Education Requirements.
3. If a student chooses to complete the MACRAO Transfer Agreement the following
additional courses must be taken to meet the SAU degree requirements:
CPSC 120; HUMS 120; ISCI 122.
4. All transfer student must complete a writing skills proficiency examination.
Students who do not demonstrate satisfactory skills will be required to
complete English 304 at Spring Arbor University.
5. Refer to Appendix III and IV of the SAU articulation agreement for specific
major/minor and course requirements options, for either the Lansing or Spring
Arbor campus.
6. The Early Childhood endorsement may be added to an elementary teaching
certificate by completing CHDV 101,184,185 at LCC and the remaining courses
at Spring Arbor University.
7. Students may substitute ENGL/WRIT 122 with Honors ENGL/WRIT 132.
8. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
