NOTES:
1. This program meets the requirements of the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. The
GVSU minimum transfer admission grade point average is 2.50.
2. Students will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in English composition
upon transferring to Grand Valley State University. Please consult the GVSU
Admissions Office for further details. LCC courses other than those
appearing on this guide should be checked for transferability to the four-
year institution.
3. Degrees offered: BS and BA. Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts (BA)
degree are required to demonstrate third-semester competence in a foreign
language.
4. As a science, biology offers the opportunity to study and experiment with
animals, plants, fungi, and bacteria in the laboratory and outdoors.
Biologists make contributions in widely varying areas, including medicine,
crop development, wildlife management, environmental preservation, and
systematics.
5. Careers in biology which require a bachelor's degree include: agronomist,
aquatic biologist, biotechnologist, microbiologist, quality control
technician, park naturalist/range, teacher, waste water technician, zoologist,
and positions with seed, fertilizer, pesticide, chemical, medical supply, or
drug companies, museums, zoos, governmental agencies, and private environment-
al consulting firms.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the

7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
