NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Central Michigan University (CMU)
that facilitates the transfer of LCC students to the CMU Bachelor of Science
in Education - Secondary Special Education Emphasis program. Students are
required to complete a minimum of 60 credits at CMU toward their degree.
COMPETENCY CHANGE: As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those
who transfer to CMU) are be required to complete CMU General Education
requirements for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and
Mathematics) before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 5)
2. Admission to the CMU College of Education is a two-step process: students
must first apply for admission to CMU, and then apply for admission to the
Teacher Education Program.
3. A program that facilitates early admission into Teacher Education at CMU

4. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement guide for appropriate LCC course selection.
5. A grade of "C" (2.00) or better in the following LCC courses found on this
guide is required: WRIT/ENGL 122; MATH 112, 121 or higher; SPCH 120/130.
A grade of "B" (3.0) or better in EDUC 220 and WRIT 121.
6. Students may waive EDUC 201 by completing 45 hours of pre-professional
experience according to guidelines established by the CMU Department of
Teacher Education and Professional Development. The 45 hour Pre-Professional
Observation Form is available on CMU's website at:

7. Select major/minor courses as advised by a CMU admissions counselor.
8. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the

9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
