NOTES:
1. This program meets the requirements of the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. The
GVSU minimum transfer admission grade point average is 2.50.
2. Students will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in English composition
upon transferring to Grand Valley State University. Please consult the GVSU
Admissions Office for further details. LCC courses other than those appearing
on this guide should be checked for transferability to the four-year
institution.
3. Degree offered: BA, BS. Students seeking the B.A. degree must demonstrate
third semester proficiency in a foreign language.
4. Based on the selected chemistry major emphasis, MATH 152 may not be required.
Students should consult with a GVSU advisor prior to taking this course.
5. Students may be required to take a bridge course (CHM 249) at GVSU.
6. Accreditation: Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical
Society.
7. Chemists with bachelor's degrees find employment in all areas of manufactur-
ing, agribusiness, energy production, health care, and in a wide variety of
industrial, governmental, and medical laboratories. Areas of employment
include product development and testing, quality control, environmental
monitoring, pollution control. Outside of the laboratory, chemists are
employed by chemical and pharmaceutical companies in sales, technical
service, and various phases of business.

9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
