The above distribution of courses fulfills the MACRAO Agreement and will
satisfy the university program portion of your degree at CMU. Please see your
Registrar to have your transcript stamped with the MACRAO Agreement Satisfied
endorsement.
COMPETENCY CHANGE: As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those who
transfer to CMU) are required to complete CMU General Education requirements
for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and Mathematics)
before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 2)
2. CMU expects its graduates to demonstrate competency in three areas: English
composition, mathematics, and speech. A grade of "C" (2.00) or better in the
following Lansing Community College courses found on this guide will fulfill
these competency requirements: WRIT 121/131, WRIT/ENGL 122/132; MATH 112 or
higher (except MATH 114, 115); SPCH 120/130; and a 3.0 in EDUC 220.
3. To major in Music Education, a student must audition in February or March
prior to Fall admission. This is a competitive, limited enrollment
program. Music majors must have at least 4 semester credits of applied study
on their major instrument (or voice), and 4 semester credits of a performing
ensemble (MUSC 108,119,123) in order to be admitted as a junior level music
major. Please refer to the current CMU Bulletin for music admission require-
ments and additional information.
4. The BME degree requires admission to the CMU Teacher Education program.
Students are required to present evidence of at least 45 clock hours of
experience working with children or youth prior to their admission to the
Teacher Education Program. These hours must be done in a classroom setting.
A minimum 2.7 GPA must be established to be considered for admissions to CMU's
Teacher Education Program. Further admission requirements information should
be obtained from CMU Teacher Education Student Services, 203 Ronan Hall, (517)
774-3308 and the 2007-08 CMU Bulletin.
5. Select a minimum of 8 semester hours in at least two subject areas: HIST 211,
212; HUMS 120,211,212: FREN/GRMN/JAPN/SPAN 121,122,201,202; ENGL 202,211,212,
255,256,266,267; MUSC 199; PHIL 152,260; RELG 241,242.
6. Select a minimum of 8 semester hours in at least two subject areas, one course
must include a lab: ASTR 201; BIOL 127,145,210; CHEM 125,135,151&161; GEOL

7. Select a minimum of 8 semester hours in at least two subject areas: ANTH 270;

9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
