The above distribution of courses fulfills the MACRAO Agreement and will
satisfy the university program portion of your degree at CMU. Please see your
Registrar to have your transcript stamped with the MACRAO Agreement Satisfied
endorsement.
COMPETENCY CHANGE: As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those who
transfer to CMU) are required to complete CMU General Education requirements
for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and Mathematics)
before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 2)
2. Requirements for admission to Teacher Education at CMU: Full details of the
Teacher Education Program requirements are available in the current Teacher
Education Student Handbook at www.ehs.cmich.edu/css/.
a. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher calculated at time of admission;
b. Completions of EDUC 220 with a minimum grade of 3.0;
c. Completion of WRIT 121/122 or ENGL 122 with a minimum grade of 2.70; and a
2.0 in the remaining English courses.
d. Completion of both MATH 112 and SPCH 120 or 130 with minimum grades of 2.0;
e. Passing scores of all three sections (Reading,Math,Writing) of the Michigan
Basic Skills Test. Recommended prior to transfer and required by the
Michigan Department of Education. Registration at www.mttc.nesinc.com.
Fee for this commercial test. Request that scores be sent to CMU.
3. This is a competitive, limited enrollment program. Music classes will transfer
as either a direct equivalent or music credit. If the class transfer as music
credit, it may require a placement examination. To be used on the major, all
classes transferred as music credit must be authorized by the music department
chair. This is done as part of the admissions process to the School of Music.

4. The BME degree requires admission to the CMU Teacher Education program.
Students are required to present evidence of at least 45 clock hours of
experience working with children or youth prior to their admission to the
Teacher Education Program. These hours must be done in a classroom setting.
5. Students may substitute WRIT 131 and WRIT/ENGL 122/132 for WRIT 121 and 122.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
