1. This program meets the requirements of the MACRAO Transfer Agreement. The
GVSU transfer admission grade point average is 2.50.
2. Students will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in English composition
upon transferring to Grand Valley State University. Please consult the GVSU
Admissions Office for further details. LCC courses other than those
appearing on this guide should be checked for transferability to the
four-year institution.
3. Degree offered: BFA/BA/BS. Students seeking a BA degree must demonstrate
third semester proficiency in a foreign language. Students seeking the BS
degree should take STAT 170.
4. A minimum of one lab science is required for all students.
5. All transfer credit for studio courses are by portfolio review.
6. Accreditation: National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
7. Career Opportunities open to students who major in art: advertising art
director, art editor, ceramist, crafts supervisor, creative director, display
artist, elementary school teacher, gallery operator, graphic designer, high
school teacher, illustrator, jeweler, master printer, metalsmith, museum
curator, museum display designer, museum educator, painter, potter, print-
maker, sculptor, set designer, stylist in industry (sculptors), and super-
visor museum school.

9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
