NOTES:
1. See the University of Michigan-Flint General Education Requirements guide for
appropriate LCC courses. Transfer may take place at any time, however, 62
semester hours is the maximum that will transfer from LCC. Only appropriate
courses listed with "C" (2.0) grades or better may transfer.
2. Students must select one major and one minor or three minors with assistance
from the UM advisor. Electives should apply toward the major and/or minors.
3. Requirements for admission to the UM-Flint Teacher Certification Program:
a. Admission to the University of Michigan-Flint.
b. Completion of at least 55 semester hours of coursework. Completion of the
following UM-Flint courses (or equivalent courses) with a grade of 2.0 or
better: EDM 121 and PSY 100. SCI 125 or 126 must be completed with a
passing grade.
c. An overall cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better and in each major and minor
teaching area; at least 18 hours completed in the major, 12 hours completed
in the minor. The early childhood endorsement minor requires the completion
of 9 hours.
d. Successful completion of the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification
(MTTC) - Basic Skills.
e. Two admission periods per year - with an application deadline of January 15
for fall admission and a September 15 deadline for winter admission.
f. Admission to teacher certification must take place prior to enrollment
in EDE 360, which is the prerequisite or corequisite for most other
required education courses.
4. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
5. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
