COMPETENCY CHANGE: Beginning August 2007, all CMU students (including those
who transfer to CMU) will be required to complete CMU General Education
requirements for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and
Mathematics) before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 4)
The writing, natural science, social science, and humanities requirements
listed above fulfills the MACRAO Agreement and will satisfy the University
Program portion for the degree at CMU. Note that students are required to
complete a minimum of 60 credits at CMU toward their degree.
2. Admission to the CMU College of Education is a two-step process: students
must first apply for admission to CMU, and then apply for admission to the
Teacher Education program.
3. A program that facilitates early admission into Teacher Education at CMU

4. The following grades are required to meet CMU competency requirements: "C"
(2.00) or better in: WRIT/ENGL 122; MATH 112, 121 or higher; SPCH 120/130;
"B-" (2.7) or better in WRIT 121/131; "B" (3.0) or better in EDUC 220
5. Additional courses in the major or minor may be taken at LCC. Please consult
with a CMU Admissions Advisor for course selection.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the

7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
