NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
   between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Central Michigan University (CMU)
   that facilitates the transfer of LCC students to the CMU Bachelor of Science 
   in Education - Elementary Special Education Emphasis program.  Note that 
   students are required to complete a minimum of 60 credits at CMU toward their
   degree.
   COMPETENCY CHANGE:  As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those
   who transfer to CMU) are required to complete CMU General Education 
   requirements for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and 
   Mathematics) before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 6)
2. Admission to the CMU College of Education is a two-step process:  students
   must first apply for admission to CMU, and then apply for admission to the
   Teacher Education Program.
3. A program that facilitates early admission into Teacher Education at CMU

5. ARTS 240 will transfer as CMU's ART 345 if EDUC 201 and 220 are taken PRIOR
   to taking ARTS 240.  Please see the CMU Art Department for approval.
6. A grade of "C" (2.00) or better in the following LCC courses found on this 
   guide is required:  WRIT/ENGL 122; MATH 112, 121 or higher; SPCH 120/130.  A
   grade of "B-" (2.7) or better in WRIT 121 is required; and 3.0+ in EDUC 220.
7. Choose two of the following courses from different disciplines - one course 
   must include a lab:  ASTR 201; BIOL 127,145,210; CHEM 125,135,151 & 161; 
   GEOL 200,221,230; ISCI 121; PHYS 221,251. 
8. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
   requirements including the LCC general education core requirements.  See the 
   LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
9. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and 
   writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
   Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
