NOTES:
1. See separate MACRAO Transfer Agreement guide for appropriate LCC courses.
   COMPETENCY CHANGE: As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those who
   transfer to CMU) are required to complete CMU General Education requirements
   for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and Mathematics)
   before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 3)
2. Required sociology courses apply to a portion of the MACRAO Transfer Agreement
   social science requirement.
3. CMU expects its graduates to demonstrate competency in three areas:  English
   composition, mathematics, and speech.  A grade of "C" (2.00) or better in the
   following Lansing Community College courses found on this guide will fulfill
   these competency requirements:  WRIT 121/131, WRIT/ENGL 122/132; MATH 112 or
   higher (except MATH 114, 115); SPCH 120/130.
4. Students receive a BSW degree.  This is a selective admissions program. 
   Students should contact the CMU Social Work Department for admissions criteria
   early in their community college course work. Send inquires to:  Department of
   Social Work, CMU, c/o Administrative Secretary, Anspach Hall 119, Mt. Pleasant
   MI 48859.  The Fall semester deadline is February 28, and Spring semester 
   deadline is October 1 for admission into this program.
5. Electives to apply toward minor or other degree requirements which are listed
   in the current CMU Bulletin under B.A. or B.S. degree requirements. Additional
   social work courses may be selected after consultation with a CMU Social Work 
   faculty advisor at (989) 774-3160.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
   requirements including the LCC general education core requirements.  See the 
   LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and 
   writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
   Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
