NOTES:
1. This transfer guide represents an articulation (partnership) agreement
between Lansing Community College (LCC) and Central Michigan University (CMU)
that facilitates the transfer of LCC students to the CMU Bachelor of Science
in Education, PES, Secondary Education Emphasis program. Note that students
are required to complete a minimum of 60 credits at CMU toward their
degree.
COMPETENCY CHANGE: As of August 2007, all CMU students (including those
who transfer to CMU) are required to complete CMU General Education
requirements for all competencies (i.e., Written English, Oral English, and
Mathematics) before completing 56 hours of coursework. (See Note 3)
2. Admission to the CMU College of Education is a two-step process: students
must first apply for admission to CMU, and then apply for admission to the
Teacher Education program. A program that facilitates early admission into
Teacher Education at CMU is available. For information, visit the LCC
website at http://www.lcc.edu/lsd/teachprep.
3. See the MACRAO Transfer Agreement for LCC course options.
4. The following grades are required to meet CMU competency requirements: 2.0
or better in ENGL/WRIT 122, SPCH 120/130, MATH 112 or higher; 2.7 or better
in WRIT 121; 3.0 or better in EDUC 220.
5. MATH 121 or higher may be substituted for the MATH 112 requirement.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
