grade point average is 2.50. LCC courses other than those appearing on this
guide should be checked for transferability to the four-year institution.
4. This guide follows the general communication major. This course may be
applied to some School of Communication majors. Consult the GVSU catalog
for further information.
5. Communications is a multidisciplinary liberal arts and professional field. At
Grand Valley a student may choose a general major in communications or one of
seven specialized majors. These majors include: Film and Video Production,
Photography, Theatre, Advertising and Public Relations, Broadcasting,
Journalism, and Health Communications.
6. Degrees offered: BS and BA. Students seeking the BA degree are required to
demonstrate third semester proficiency in a foreign language.

requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
