NOTES:
1. See the WMU General Education guide for appropriate LCC courses. LCC courses
other than those appearing on this guide should be checked for transferability
to the four-year institution.
2. All transfer students majoring or minoring in English should consult with one
of the department's undergraduate advisors (269/387-2575) about transferring
credit in English courses from other colleges. An early conference will enable
students to avoid duplication of courses and possible loss of transfer credit
and may enable them to bypass some of the department's basic requirements. It
is departmental policy to accept no more than 20 hours of transferred credit
toward a major and no more than 12 hours of transferred credit toward a minor.
A minimum grade of a "C" (2.0) is required in all courses that apply to the
English major or minor.
3. Students who will graduate from the WMU College of Arts and Sciences must
complete the College foreign language requirement by:
a. Passing two semesters of college level study in one foreign language.
b. Attaining appropriate score on WMU's foreign language examination.
c. Two years of one foreign language in high school with a grade of "B" or
higher in the 4th semester.
4. Two semester credits of health and well-being courses are required for
graduation from WMU. Select from PFFT 114; PFHW 163.
5. WMU requires all students to satisfactorily complete an Intellectual Skills
Development Program. LCC courses which meet the Intellectual Skills require-
ments are: Writing: WRIT 121; Reading: Satisfactory completion of 26
semester credits of transferable credits, or the completion of ED 104 at WMU,
or exemption based upon a standardized reading test at WMU; and Quantifi-
cation: MATH 107.
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements. See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing. To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration. For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
