NOTES:
1. See the MTU General Education Requirements guide for appropriate LCC courses.
At least six credits of general education distribution courses must come from
political or social sciences, or economics, and at least nine credits from
anthropology, art, history, humanities, music, literature, philosophy or
psychology (students should also take at least one course from anthropology
[ANTH 270] or world history). Only three credits of music or theater
performance, drawing, painting, sculpting/studio design may count toward these
requirements.  LCC courses other than those appearing on this guide should be
checked for transferability to the four-year institution.
2. All students, unless excused by the MTU University Health Service, must earn
3 different credits in physical education activity courses as a requirement
for graduation.  No physical education course may be counted more than once.
3. MTU's CS 1121 and 1122 are based on Java programming language. Proficiency in
Java programming will be required before progressing to higher level classes.
MTU's Computer Science Department recommends transfer following the
completion of one year of study at LCC.
4. All recommended courses will transfer and apply toward degree requirements
provided grades of "C" (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better are earned.  It is not
required that students complete all recommended courses prior to
enrolling at MTU.  There are no minimum or maximum credit restrictions
in effect for transfer students.  There is a residency requirement of 30 MTU
credits for all students.  Qualified students will be accepted any time they
choose to apply regardless of the number of courses completed, provided
openings exist in their requested program.
5. Laboratory science electives must be a one-year sequence of biology,
   chemistry or physics.
6. Free electives are chosen only after consulting a department advisor at MTU.
7. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
requirements including the LCC general education core requirements.  See the
LCC catalog at http://www.lcc.edu/catalog for additional details.
8. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the
Computerized Placement Tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GB 200) prior to
registration.  For testing hours call (517) 267-5500.
