NOTES:

1. See the NMU Liberal Studies Requirements guide for appropriate LCC 
   courses.  The MACRAO Transfer Agreement may also be referred to in selection 
   of general education courses.  Select EITHER the NMU Liberal Studies Require-
   ments -OR- the MACRAO Transfer Agreement.  General education courses will be 
   applicable to the major or minor.  A maximum of 64 semester credits and 
   one additional physical education activity credit may transfer from a
   community college. 
2. All candidates for NMU graduation must complete a World Cultures 
   course and an upper-level (300-400) course.  Students can fulfill the 
   world cultures requirement by completing one of the following while at LCC:
   ANTH 270, GEOG 200, HIST 214/240, or RELG 211.  The following courses will meet
   the 300-level or above requirement:  ENGL 211, 212, 255, 256; RELG 241,242.
3. NMU's bachelor's degree program combines the traditional core courses in
   mathematics as well as applied courses that can lead to careers in actuarial
   science and operations research.  This program, with its major emphasis on
   mathematics itself, provides a firm and widely beneficial grounding in the
   nature, foundations, and utility of mathematics.
4. Students can fulfill the health promotion requirement by completing PFFT 100 
   and a physical education activity course at LCC.
5. Select elective credits with assistance from the NMU transfer admissions
   counselor (listed below).
6. Students seeking an LCC associate degree must fulfill specific graduation
   requirements including core requirements.  See the LCC Catalog for details.
7. This transfer guide requires basic skill levels in mathematics, reading, and
   writing.  To determine accurate course placement, students should take the 
   Basic Skills Assessment tests in the LCC Assessment Center (GVT 2100) prior to
