LCC Planetarium
LCC Planetarium programs are available free of charge to schools,
scouts, and other groups. Programs are presented on Fridays during
the school year and are usually about an hour long. The Planetarium
is used to observe the night sky, noting the motions of the Sun, the
Moon, the planets and the stars. Images of these celestial objects
compare and contrast their characteristics. Programs follow
grade-appropriate Michigan Curriculum Framework Science Benchmarks
for the solar system, galaxy and the universe. Special, custom-made
programs can be designed to accommodate the needs of any group with
advanced notice.
Please call the Science Department at
517-483-1092 for more information or to schedule a program date. Feel free to contact the Planetarium Director at 517-483-1195 to
discuss special program requests. The Planetarium is located on the
4th floor of the Arts and Sciences building on LCC’s main
campus.
