Physical Science Career Facts
Most careers with a physics concentration require education beyond an associate degree. Many require degrees past a bachelor's. For those students who transfer to a four-year institution after LCC to continue the study of physics, there are a wide variety of career paths open to them.
For employment as a physicist or astronomer, a doctoral degree is the usual educational requirement although there are some jobs in applied research and development for which a bachelor's or master's is sufficient. Research and development is the main component of these careers.
Other career fields open to those who choose to study physics are environmental science, geoscience, engineering, pharmacy, medicine and education.
