Lansing Community College, in conjunction with the Ingham Intermediate School District Capital Area Career Center, offers a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) approved Certificate Program and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Histologic Technology.

The Histologic Technician Certificate program includes 16 Directed Histotechnology Study credits to be taken over a period of 2 academic years at the Ingham Intermediate School District as well as 8 additional credits through Lansing Community College. Successful completion of the certificate program allows graduates to sit for the national certification examination given by the Board of Registry. Upon successful completion of the certification exam, and an additional 46 specified credits, an Associate in Applied Science degree will be granted. Histologic Technicians with an Associate in Applied Science degree will have greater job opportunities in human diagnostic laboratories.
