LIBERAL STUDIES DIVISION

  • Carol Green Memorial Cardiac Rehabilitation Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the Physical Fitness and Wellness Department.  Funds are meant to be used for scholarships for students to attend Cardiac Rehabilitation classes and/or Adult Fitness classes, currently known as PFFT 151 and PFFT 261.

  • James P. Platte Memorial Scholarship
    Awards are designated for students in a Performing Arts, English, or Communications program. Recipients must have 24 completed credits, be enrolled in at least 6 credits, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • John W. Manion Memorial Scholarship
    This scholarship was established in memory of John Manion, an LCC English professor and is intended for students majoring in English.

  • Hal Gross Communications Scholarship
    Recipients should be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits in LCC's Communications or Telecommunications programs or be a graduating high school senior with interest in a career in communications. Recipients shall have a minimum 2.6 GPA.

  • Lansing Poetry Club Award
    Recipients  are identified annually through the Lansing Poetry Club competition.

  • Writing Scholarship in Honor of Linda Peckham
    Preference given to students enrolled in the Writing for Publications or the Forum for Authors courses.

  • Byrne, Machtel, Sargeant Endowed Scholarship
    This scholarship is intended for Performing Arts majors. Recipients shall maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

  • Cathy J. Siebert Stratford Festival Award
    This scholarship is to be used for transportation, lodging, and theater tickets to attend the Stratford Festival. Students must have passed or be passing ENG 122 with a grade of 2.0 or higher. Selections are made by the travel award committee. Students are required to submit a portfolio from the trip.

  • Dance Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the Dance Department.

  • Dorothy Harper Jones Dance Scholarship
    Recipients shall be a Michigan resident enrolled in the Performing Arts program and shall be African American descent.

  • Elizabeth L. Anderson Scholarship
    This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits in the Arts, Dance, Music or Theater programs. Recipients shall be in-district residents. Financial need will be considered.

  • Heather Powers Theatre Scholarship
    Preference will be given to students participating in the Stratford Experience or British Theater tour.

  • Michigan Stage Technician Apprenticeship Program Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the program.

  • Music Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the Performing Arts Department.

  • Performing Arts Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the Performing Arts Department.

  • Stan Hartman Memorial Theatre Scholarship
    Recipients must be enrolled in their second or third semester of the Theatre Program.  Recipients must reside in-district, enroll in a minimum of 12 credits, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Financial need  is considered.

  • Ten Pound Fiddle Coffeehouse Scholarship
    Recipients must be enrolled in a Media Technology/Stage Technology program.  Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 6 credits. maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and have completed MTEC 120 and 122.

  • Theater Scholarship
    Recipients are selected by the Theater Department.

  • Accident Fund Company Scholarship
    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in an information technology or math program with a minimum of 6 credits.  Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA.  Financial need will be considered.

  • Department of Mathematical Skills Scholarship
    Students must have completed Math 050, Math 107, or Math 112, maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA, and enroll in a minimum of 6 credits.  Financial need is considered.

  • Dow Chemical Technology Scholarship
    Recipients must be US citizens enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits in the Chemical Technology Program. Students shall maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

  • Jeff Case Woldumar Internship Award
    Recipients selected by the Science Department. Applicants should submit a project proposal of 600 words or less outlining an educational, instructional or improvement project to be completed on site at Woldumar Nature Center.

  • Procter and Gamble-Chemical Technology Scholarship
    Recipients must be US citizens enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in the Chemical Technology Program.

  • Tom Loomis Chemistry Scholarship Award
    Recipients must be 2nd year students enrolled in chemistry (organic or general) and reside in-district.  Recipients must enroll in a minimum of 12 credits and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • TechSmith Corporation Computer Science/Information Technology Scholarship             This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled in a computer science or information technology program and are pursuing their first educational degree.  Recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

  • Dave and Jill Patterson Scholarship
    This scholarship is for a student with a stated career goal in education. Recipients must reside in-district, be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credits, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Financial need will be considered.

  • Eva L. Evans Education Scholarship
    Scholarship recipients shall be African-American students who intend to enter a 4-year institution in the teaching profession. Recipients shall reside in-district and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits. Preference will be given to students who have tutored, or will tutor, work on playgrounds, or volunteer in a school setting.

  • Fred T. and Hazel P. Trebilcock Scholarship
    This scholarship is available to students pursuing a degree in education. Students shall enroll for a minimum of 6 credits. Financial need will be considered.

  • Joel Ferguson Government and Public Affairs Scholarship
    Students who are enrolled in courses leading to a government or public affairs career should apply. Recipients shall enroll for a minimum of 12 credits. Financial need will be considered.
