How to Apply for Award and Scholarship Programs
PLEASE NOTE: This application process is for
Honors Program Awards, Occupational Program Awards,
Foundation Scholarships, and Student Leadership Academy Service Scholarships
only. Refer to
Board of Trustees Awards
and
Women's Resource Center and Returning Adult Program Awards for
the specific application process for each award.

Review the information about award and
scholarship programs offered:
Review
the information on these web pages carefully.
Complete the
application form and gather the
required documentation:
Download and print a copy of the Award/Scholarship/Admission Form:
Fill out the application form.
Indicate the area of study you plan to pursue.
Indicate your award/scholarship preference.
Include the materials listed in the
Application Checklist below.
Submit the application form and all required
documentation:
Submit the completed application form and all required documentation
on or before February 6, 2008** to the address listed below.

** Application materials received after
February 6, 2008**, may not be considered. However, there may be limited
opportunities to apply for Foundation Scholarships after this date or be
placed on the alternate list for other awards.
** Deadline extended from February 1, 2008.
Announcement and Acceptance of Awards/Scholarships
All applicants will be notified by a letter, to be mailed
no later than April 4, 2008, about whether or not they are being offered an
award or scholarship. Recipients must submit their written acceptance of the
award or scholarship no later than April 18, 2008.
Application
Checklist
The following items MUST be included with your application
for all awards and scholarships.

Most recent transcript (high school or
college)
-
Personal statement explaining
your college and career goals. This statement must be at least 250 words in length
and should include information about:
(a) your selected area of study;
(b)
your academic goals at LCC and/or a four-year school; and
(c) the specific
occupation or profession you intend to enter.

Two letters of recommendation. At least one of these letters
must be from a teacher, school counselor, school administrator, or
other professional who knows your qualities as a student.

Academy Service Scholarships

Personal statement describing your community
service and leadership experience, why you feel you should be a member of
the LCC Student Leadership Academy, and what you hope to gain from this
experience.

Letter of recommendation from a teacher,
counselor, or community service/leadership representative who is
knowledgeable about your leadership potential and performance.

An interview will be required, but this
will not occur until after February 1, 2008.
